ABSTRACT

This visual culture originates from a brand-new seeing method which forms a “digitalized seeing” by combining data production technology with drone aerial photography technology. The large amount of digital data that can be widely integrated through drones therefore has the special significance of reconstructing urban communication relations. As an aerial photography medium, the drone’s visual logic is a departure from the everyday visuality of eye-level seeing. The aerial image takes the big scene as the main sign, that is, the aerial view showing the large space with the help of drones, which is widely used in grand narratives such as city image films. In traditional photography, any scene shot by the photographic artificial limb serves to capture time, whether spiritually or technically. Even the time of exposure may consciously or unconsciously create a memory based on the timing of shooting. The new visual culture, including analogue photography, advertisements and shop windows, re-shaped people’s memory and experience.
