ABSTRACT

Ethical issues are important when digital health services are developed and are in daily use by both nurses and patients. The chapter reveals the principles of ethics and the requirements and challenges related to digital health. It is important to raise discussion, and humans should have the feeling that it is possible to influence how the future society is or will be built, and what we want to retain and reform in society. It is important to address future challenges by means of tomorrow’s methods. The chapter includes an introduction to the foundations of ethics, applications in our contemporary digital society, the ethics of technology use with older persons, and a special emphasis on ownership and the patient’s role in creating health data.
