ABSTRACT
This chapter was among the most complete, with several versions left by Lawrence Butler and his colleagues in the archive. In its original form, the Roman report was no more than notes, but by the time the medieval pottery came to be studied in the mid-1980s, the world of the computer had arrived, in this case double-sided quad density discs on a BBC microcomputer. These discs have not been located and parts of the medieval pottery report had become disordered with multiple hand-corrected copies in circulation. Text and illustrations have now been re-united and the chapter re-formatted. Further comment on the medieval pottery from Faxton has kindly been provided by Paul Blinkhorn to bring the report up to date and a new post-medieval pottery section has been added.
