ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses the risks of investing in hemp and CBD companies. Unlike cannabis, hemp is now legal on a federal level, making investing in hemp much like investing in any other business. The risks are primarily financial. CBD, however, as discussed in Chapter 2, is still on uncertain legal ground. Because of this CBD investments have unique risks. But enforcement of food and drug laws related to CBD has been almost entirely focused on the actual production companies and not on investors.
