ABSTRACT

This chapter uses a LatDisCrit’s counterstory coupled with methodological tools developed within critical hermeneutics to decode the discursive and mythological basis of anti-meritocratic ideologies of assumed normative authority. The setting is global south higher education during the 1980s. However, the chapter concludes by reflecting upon exploratory ways to bridge global south and global north prospects for radical solidarity and emancipatory learning that creatively embraces pandisability and decolonial, and intersectionally grounded subaltern causes.
