ABSTRACT
Special schools in India influence careers of blind people across the humanities, the social sciences, and the sciences. This chapter examines the influence by deploying autoethnography collectively, the result being a representation of cohort consciousness. The influence is found to resonate with the metanarrative of blindness. However, the influence often transpires via practical wisdom or phronesis, rather than abstract logic.
