ABSTRACT

O. A. Wiio’s development of the Organizational Communication Development (OCD) Audit Questionnaire has been thorough, involving research over a 10-year period, thousands of subjects in Finnish organizations, and several scale revisions. The original objectives were to develop a “cheap and fast” means of assessing the communication climate in organizations, to give a rough measure of communication and job satisfaction, and to give an indication about possible bottlenecks in organizational communication. The OCD Audit Questionnaire is one of the most thoroughly worked out instruments for organizations. There is a problem, however, in that the OCD Audit Questionnaire is a refined version of the LTT Audit, and most of the statistical analyses reported are for the LTT or preliminary versions. One of the most interesting uses of the OCD Audit Questionnaire is Wiio’s development of workshop delphi techniques.
