ABSTRACT
This chapter attempts to cite, discuss, and correlate all published forensic applications of pyrolysis-mass spectrometry (Py-MS), including pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS). In this context, the term “forensic applications” is taken to mean those instances where these analytical techniques were used for the examination of materials which were evidence in a court of law or where a published report had the purpose of demonstrating how the analytical technique might be used with such evidential materials.
