ABSTRACT
Magic and arguably poetry are arts condemned by the Author of the Qur’an (2: 102; 26: 224–6). Would academic philosophy of religion have escaped condemnation if the Sacred Text had been revealed in a different age or in a different culture (like, say, Socrates’ Greece)?
