ABSTRACT

This chapter concentrates on the important aspect of the strategy of any organization – to achieve success the management of staff should be a high priority on an organization’s agenda. Traditionally the library and information centre has been a central resource housing the majority of print materials and information staff. By developing the librarian to be an expert in a particular area, they can often become an integral part of the legal team. Outsourcing is another area that has grown in prominence over the past few years. This could mean that an information team may be staffed by both employees of the firm and of the outsource provider working alongside each other or by the outsourced staff either dedicated to a particular firm or acting as a central resource for several firms. Good analysis is the cornerstone of effective organizational entry and provides a sound basis for recruitment and selection of staff.
