ABSTRACT

This chapter is a comprehensive reference manual providing information on the Frontal Systems Behavior Scale (FrSBe), which is a rating scale, completed by an informant or by the person with brain impairment. It is designed to measure changes in behaviour as a consequence of frontal systems dysfunction, including cortical and subcortical dementias. The manual for the FrSBe provides instructions for administration. The FrSBe is completed by either an informant who has good knowledge of the person both premorbidly and currently and/or person with brain impairment. The FrSBe is appropriate for adults of all ages, as well as for people with progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions. A brief history of the instrument's development is provided, along with a description of item content and administration/scoring procedures. Psychometric properties are reviewed and a critical commentary is provided. Key references are cited and in most cases the actual scale is included, giving the reader easy access to the instrument.
