ABSTRACT

This chapter is a comprehensive reference manual providing information on the Neuropsychology Behavior and Affect Profile (NBAP), which is a rating scale, completed by an informant or by the person with brain impairment. It was developed specifically to measure personality and affective changes after brain impairment. The NBAP is designed either for self-completion or for completion by an informant who knew the person premorbidly. The NBAP has a number of psychometric strengths, and particularly noteworthy is its excellent temporal stability, and evidence for content and construct validity. A brief history of the instrument's development is provided, along with a description of item content and administration/scoring procedures. Psychometric properties are reviewed and a critical commentary is provided. Key references are cited and in most cases the actual scale is included, giving the reader easy access to the instrument.
