Chapter Number & Title – chapter 7 Teaching literacy and numeracy in business

One of the most challenging parts of teaching business as a new teacher is how to ensure that pupils can develop the written, verbal and numeracy skills they need to obtain a successful qualification in business. This chapter will look at practical techniques that pupils can employ right from a beginner teacher's first lesson to ensure that their pupils remember what they have been taught and can articulate this both verbally and in writing. This will include a look at retrieval, spaced practice, deliberate practice, and interleaving. This chapter will also look at techniques to improve pupil's numeracy skills and their quantitative analysis skills when looking at data.
