ABSTRACT
Reviewing the research on performance analysis in handball, this chapter aims to examine several topics regarding home advantage (HA) in handball. It identifies the different ways of calculating HA, compares the magnitude of HA in handball with other sports, and analyses the effect of HA on several aspects of team’s performances across different conditions, such as gender, country, competitive balance, and game period. The last section of the chapter focuses on suggestions for further investigation on HA in handball.
