ABSTRACT
The few years spent by an apprentice under indenture previous to the war have in most cases been of great advantage to him when with the Colours. In the ranks as an N.CO. the budding C.A. is ever in demand for detecting errors in parade states, running a battalion canteen. Several new departures have apparently taken place in most offices, which the apprentice in the army hears about in a vague sort of way when calling back at his old place of employment during short and infrequent periods of leave. The large majority of apprentices in the army do not intend to spend much time in holidays or having a “bust” when demobilisation sets in, but taken as a whole they mean to go “all-out” for the “Final.” H.
