ABSTRACT

This chapter is focused on three art therapy–informed initiatives within Assisi Hospice in Singapore, where the author serves as an art therapist. Art therapy can be contextualised for diverse population groups in a multitude of settings; and within the boundaries of this chapter, the context is palliative and bereavement care. These three initiatives, despite being independent of each other, provided a platform for other members of the interdisciplinary team to come alongside the art therapist to co-facilitate or support when necessary. This model of practice is also aligned with the “total pain, total care” clinical team–based approach prevalent within hospice settings.
