ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the changes in legislation that have influenced the practice of neurobehavioural rehabilitation in hospital and other settings. Beginning with a historical perspective, the chapter charts the development of the legal framework in England and Wales in which services are organised and professionals operate with particular focus on the relevance of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and adult safeguarding.
