ABSTRACT

As a literacy scholar, I am deeply invested in and inspired by stories about race, place, language, justice, activism, and change. Stories about struggle and survival. Stories about love and liberation. Stories about living and dying. Stories as embedded in histories and as resistant to those same histories in which they get embedded. Stories as the space between thinking and writing, knowing and doing, hearing and listening, being and becoming, surviving and thriving. And stories as intentional acts of justice and purposeful movements toward freedom.
