ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the role of street theater in revolution, politics, and the social context based on the experience of Fanni Raghman Anni(FRA) in Tunisia. And before presenting the artistic group, it seems necessary to give a brief historic conceptual background. Fanni Raghman Anni seeks to rebuild aesthetic styles in public spaces through political discourse in their popular neighborhoods. As an artistic expression, the street art project of the FRA group was unique in its artistic quality, which breaks with some concepts or tools, brings new elements, and develops alternative artistic methodologies. It seems that FRA's approach to political and social change developed from there. In 2011, FRA launched its first social and political intervention, which consisted of restoring and liberating public space in Tunisia. Indeed, street theater in its Tunisian-Arab revolutionary form is a cry of rebellion against an unequal society, political exclusion, and cultural desertification.
