The book also discusses how businesses in Bangladesh have adopted corporate social responsibility practices to increase organisational productivity and international competitiveness. It also explains how the introduction of the Internet changed economic behaviour of the rural population. The book describes various challenges Bangladesh has in introducing good governance practices. It examines the forces that have fostered economic growth and suggest that bureaucratic and political elites in Bangladesh have decidedly assumed the role of pursuing a series of policies to promote economic growth and development.
