ABSTRACT
It is the third straight day of training out in a remote training area in the swamp of Louisiana. Private First Class (PFC) Green said he enjoyed boot camp and the camaraderie he shared with the other basic trainees, some of whom he keeps in contact with today even though they are stationed all over the world now. After basic training, he went to Advanced Individual Training where he learned how to perform his job as a combat engineer. Soon after getting to the unit, they deployed to the Middle East right at the end of Operation Enduring Freedom. PFC Green said it was great to get to apply his training down range, but it was a pretty low-key deployment all things considered. PFC Green explained that things have been pretty boring at work as well.
