ABSTRACT

Mary Sue is a 50-year-old grandmother. She loves to dance. In fact, she is a dance instructor who leads a dance class for men and women once a week. She works as an administrative assistant to one of the best surgeons in the surgery department of the university hospital in her hometown. On her way home from dance class one night, she feels a pain in her abdomen. She tries to ignore it, even when she gets home. Her stomach had bothered her before, but nothing that required serious medical interventions. At work the next day, she feels fine, as if nothing had happened the night before, so she dismisses mentioning it to her boss when he asks how the class went the night before. A week passed and it was time for class again, but as she was getting ready to leave her house the pain returned, but a stronger, stabbing pain that doubled her over.
