ABSTRACT

Kio is a 25-year-old Asian male. His family is originally from Niihama, Japan; they moved to Boston, Massachusetts when he was three years old. During his first year with the team, Kio performed well at his position and got along well with his teammates and coaches. At the end of his first season, his coaches told him that he was a “stand out” in his position and they believed that, as long as he continued playing this way, he would put himself in a favorable position to advance within semi-professional and professional divisions in the sport. At the conclusion of the season, Kio returned home, and again trained with his brother to prepare for his third season with the team. He also continued to receive medical care related to his lingering symptoms. When his third season began, Kio was elected to continue serving as a captain and was optimistic and excited to compete again.
