ABSTRACT

The Ramirezes provide a comfortable lifestyle for their family, including gymnastic team training and private coaching for both daughters. Traveling the state for competitions requires the family to allocate significant resources to support their daughters. Both parents hope that sports participation will help their daughters develop self-confidence, a good work ethic, and learn how to be valuable teammates. Leanna, a straight-A student, showed promise in gymnastics early on, excelling from the time she began training approximately five years ago. After two years of training, she quickly advanced through the levels and began competing on an Xcel team. As a gymnast, Leanna cannot move onto a level 5 team without being proficient in a series of movements, including a round-off back handspring back tuck. With the looming deadline, the Ramirez family is concerned that Leanna will not succeed without professional help and support.
