ABSTRACT
This United States-located professional basketball organization has contended for the league championship on and off during the past decade. With regard to its basketball operations division, the organization includes a general manager, two assistant general managers, a head coach, five assistant coaches, a three-member athletic training staff, and two strength and conditioning coaches. The organization also had access to two licensed mental health counselors who were associated with a nearby mental health clinic. The area of mental health of players became a concern as the season progressed. The individual that was hired – who will go by the name of Jan for this case study to protect anonymity – agreed to move to the area and be a full-time employee of the organization.
