ABSTRACT

As English continues to cement itself as an international language for communication, movements towards Teaching English as an International Language (TEIL) are being experienced on a global scale. Worldwide, teachers, teacher educators, and materials developers are seeking new pathways to better prepare their students to use English within and across local and global English-using communities. In this epilogue, I hope to draw together key strengths of the book to consolidate its contribution to knowledge, to highlight the important connections it makes between research and practice, and to use it as a platform to recommend future avenues of continued research.
