ABSTRACT
The digital traces created by devices as logs are valuable to the researchers in understanding the way people interact with their surroundings. The wide availability and use of connected devices such as mobile phones, Internet of Things (IoT), camera networks have led to a vast amount of data collection. Big Data can be defined casually as the dataset which is huge and includes details in large order of magnitude and is fit for comprehensive analysis. Call detail records (CDR) is an active directory maintained by the companies and network operators providing the mobile voice and data services to the cell phones. The operators require the rough location of the device for quick connectivity, hence every cell phone connected with a particular network service provider is monitored for location change. CDR collects the information regarding the identity and address of the source and destinations, time duration and billing cost for internet usage, voice call and text messages received and sent.
