ABSTRACT

During 2020, the world is suffering from a deadly and unprecedented highly contagious viral disease, the COVID-19, that is disrupting people's lives and the progress of countries, governments and businesses. Moreover, some fundamental aspects of society have been under scrutiny for a while. Many voices ask for changes in our globalized and free-market system's functioning, and this crisis heightens their prominence. Although the benefits that this system generates are considerable, lifting millions of people out of poverty and offering a better life, at the same time, it has made societal distortions more noticeable, undermining social concord. The sensible answer to this situation is using this opportunity to improve the foundations of human coexistence. This chapter proposes creating a sustainable business organization based on a human centered culture focused on employees' wellbeing, just relations with stakeholders and embracing the common good.
