ABSTRACT

This chapter situates the case studies within the framework of contemporary discourses on leadership, identity, and organizational learning with linkages to known theories of relevance.

The terms leadership and identity can be described in many ways, some of which might fairly be characterized as “loaded” or “charged,” and almost all of which are dynamic in certain respects. This chapter seeks to define “sensitizing concepts” that shape the lenses through which readers may understand the book.
