ABSTRACT

This chapter defines the audience of the Digital Milliet, the needs of this audience, and to conduct an audit of the work that has been done. For this reason, the authors find it appropriate to publish this book in a traditional print format rather than as an electronic resource. There is also a tendency to over-intellectualize Digital Humanities projects by focusing on their theoretical implications whereas most projects are practical responses to practical needs, such as the need to access the primary sources and the need to visualize and conceptualize the data. However, the authors think that questioning challenges is crucial and necessary, because they must recognize that Digital Humanities projects, besides their intellectual aims, also have a practical aspect that they have a tendency to minimize.
