ABSTRACT

This chapter lays emphasis on the growth of China and its geopolitical implications in the region of South Asia, which poses a grave concern to both India and the United States while also mentioning their shared scepticism of Pakistan. It specifies how India has always put her interests first while refusing to budge to any external pressure, in her goal of attaining socio-economic development, and to compete economically with China, while maintaining a fundamentally strong relationship with the American State. On examining the strategies of previous administrations, which resulted in forging constructive bilateral ties, the author hopes to produce feasible and mutually beneficial proposals to strengthen the security of the Indo-Pacific region and attain other similar goals.
