ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the structure of the Bhagavad-gītā and highlights the foundation of one of the Bhagavad-gītā’s central theme’s, which is karma yoga. Accordingly, there is a ladder of action (karma) which is structured similarly to the famous eight-limb yoga ladder. By adhering to this ladder, one is gradually sublimated from utilitarian action (sakamah karma) to non-attached action (nishkama karma) and eventually to devotion (bhakti).
