ABSTRACT

Sahibo, leaven affects the hearts and minds of Delhiites rather quickly. They swell at such a rate that grains today become grams tomorrow, ounces the day after, and the following day the personality is adorned by all of several pounds. So sahibs, the grandeur of Delhi lies in its being powerful, mighty and strong. This is more important for democracy than any other spirit. In front are the fields of Ganga-jhusi, spread far and wide with the narrow canal forming a sort of blue lace edging. Normal body temperature, fresh food and its aromatic pleasure all combine to bless the peoples with the distinction of being healthy. In fact, the coronation of Aurangzeb had taken place at Shalimar. Shalimar gate is now decrepit. Ruins have their own continuity which, in a way, keeps them new even in their antiquity.
