FinTech is gaining significant momentum as it becomes a driving force in the transformation of the financial sector worldwide. The aim of this study is to identify the critical success factors for FinTechs from the users’ perspective. The research sample included 403 respondents from the world. A principal axis factor analysis with the Promax rotation was conducted to assess the underlying structure for the 30 items of the questionnaire. Four factors were identified: product, customer base, management and cooperation, which together explained 56.326% of the variance. Findings show that the first factor, which indexes product, plays a significant role in the success of FinTechs. The research contributes to the literature and practice by providing factors influencing success of FinTechs.
