ABSTRACT

The changeability of the business model is its inherent feature. This phenomenon is particularly important in view of the contemporary conditions of conducting business activity. The issue of the challenges of the digitalization of economies and the digital transformation of business models penetrates into the minds of entrepreneurs, who are focused on success and improving competitiveness. A static approach to shaping business models should be replaceable with a dynamic approach. There must be turning points in the life cycle of the business model to maintain the constant ability to capture value in order to achieve the expected level of competitiveness. Market trends, changes in legal regulations, internal strategies, new opportunities, management processes and changes in the configuration of the business model, including interactions between its components, determine the need for changes. The purpose of the chapter is to present the results of research into the management processes of evolutionary, revolutionary, and adaptive changes in selected Polish companies in the context of existing crisis phenomena, which determine the shaping of their business models. The authors conducted qualitative scientific research into the implementation of evolutionary, revolutionary, and adaptive change in the business processes of selected Polish companies in the context of crisis situations. The results indicate significant internal and external determinants which stimulate the adaptation needs of business models of companies to ensure business continuity and the ability of the company to survive.
