ABSTRACT

ERP-type integrated management systems are increasingly used by not only large but also small and medium-sized enterprises in Poland. Their implementation to enterprises is key to building competitive advantage in the market. This chapter is intended to examine the impact of implementation of an ERP-type integrated IT management system on competitiveness of enterprises. It has been demonstrated that data flows and integration, as well as identification of weaknesses, can be optimised by means of ERP systems and their functionalities, which are sources of competitive advantage. The theoretical section of this paper is a query into literature about integrated IT systems, while its empirical part presents results of the author’s study of 168 large enterprises active in the Mazovian region, conducted in 2019. Exploratory factor analysis is employed to verify the research hypothesis.
