ABSTRACT

Anna Heringer is a German architect who first learned about sustainable development, architecture, construction, and the value of using existing, local resources during a year of volunteering in Bangladesh. On her return to Europe, she studied architecture at the University of Arts in Linz, Austria. Her diploma work, the METI handmade school in Rudrapur, was realised in 2005 in collaboration with Eike Roswag and won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2007. Studio Anna Heringer has since completed multiple projects in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
