ABSTRACT

Sixty-one states were drawn into the furnace of World War II, more than 80% of the world’s population. The flames of war burned for 2,194 days and nights on the territory of 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and on the surface of all the world’s oceans. The scientific-technological revolution exerts a growing influence on practically all spheres and aspects pertinent to the military, especially on military technology. The modern revolution in the military field began after the Second World War. The military leadership of the USA places before its scientific institutions the task of continually anticipating the enemy’s moves in the creation of new arms, whereas attempts are being made to slow down military development in the USSR. the United States and other NATO nuclear powers categorically refuse to follow the example of the USSR and to take upon themselves the obligation not to use nuclear weapons first and, in general, not to use force in international relations.
