ABSTRACT

CoLaboratory Kitchen is a collaborative design methodology that aims to generate the transdisciplinary co-construction of socio-environmentally sustainable agro-food systems by integrating theory with practice. Acting as a catalyst for transdisciplinary interactions, creative design can trigger social transformation towards sustainability. By engaging practitioners in collaborative design processes, profound transformations of local visions and values can be generated. CoLaboratory Kitchen regards the kitchen as a co-creative space where science, agriculture, gastronomy and creativity are connected through the collective activity of cooking. Consequently, a shared vision of a desirable future might be ‘prepared’ in the kitchen.
