ABSTRACT

There was good, bad, and indifferent among the many costumes cannot be denied; but the idea cannot fail of beneficial effect, since so many of the dresses were inviting, while eminently sensible, comfortable, and convenient. If the costumes worn at the bazaar under the name, given during the last two days in the Town Hall at Kensington, may be regarded as the shadows cast before by coming events, women of the future have much to gain and little to lose in the matter of becoming dress. These coming dresses cannot honestly be regarded as attractions of the future from a beauty point of view, though no doubt they are most comfortable and correct from a health point of view. Mrs. Brooke Pechell gave people more to hope for in a practical outdoor dress, looking neat, trim, and even stylish.
