ABSTRACT

This chapter takes a closer look at the use of technology in the classroom, deeper learning, students’ ownership of their learning, and the global classroom. The key is to get the technology, pedagogy, and content to connect. This chapter discusses how the use of technology is vital, but to succeed, classroom management is critical. Technology alone will not guarantee a school for the future or prevent students from being left behind in a changing world. A digital paradigm shift constitutes a change from one way of thinking to another. When implemented correctly, digital tools can transform education. Student ownership of their learning and how to motivate the students have to be in place. To continue to learn in this area, teachers need to create personal learning networks.
