ABSTRACT
As I look back at the journey of my life, I find that my research interests and writings have been shaped by the journey itself. Life itself has been moulded by responses to external circumstances and societal attitudes, together with the family playing a big role in shaping my personality and attitudes. My two great interests have been education and the Mahabharata, on both of which I have written extensively. Always inclined towards spirituality, I have found succour and strength in the Vedanta and Indian philosophic and spiritual traditions. I have also had the good fortune to contribute towards the building of three great institutions, of which I am very proud.
