ABSTRACT
The United States has a peculiar characteristic: it openly opposes history and, instead, embraces myth. The established order goes out of its way to dismiss, if not obliterate, facts that run contrary to dominant, capitalist myth. And those who offer such a challenge do so at the risk of facing the wrath of the Gorgon.
