ABSTRACT

Socialism is an inevitable social system crossing the stage of capitalism. Historical materialism is a doctrine which substantiates that socialism is a socio-economic system which has to be passed prior to reaching the stage of communism. Lenin rightly predicted in those days that economic “annexation” is fully achievable without political annexation and is widely practised today. A country may appear to be free and independent, if you consult geography or an atlas. But if you look behind, you find that it is in the grip of another country, or rather its bankers and businessmen. Soviet socialism could not use the achievements of the Scientific and Technological Revolution, whereas China has adopted the policy of interdependency of both systems and could develop in various fields.
