ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews October Revolution and its impact on world development. The first period of establishment of the Soviet State, Internal Civil War and external aggression of 14 capitalist, imperialist countries, New Economic Policy, rapid industrialisation, Second World War, defeat of fascism and Japanese military, 20th Party Soviet Congress, Gorbachev’s Perestroika period, and collapse of the Soviet systems respectively have been covered. Communists and progressives all over the world have commemorated the 90th anniversary of the Russian Revolution which marked the turning point in the history of the working class in meetings and ceremonies. Soviet democracy builds a new life for the working people of the USSR. Bourgeois democracy, which is essentially the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, is based on the principle of the smallest number of people manipulating the largest number of votes.
