ABSTRACT
The journey of English in India has been unparallel compared to that of the other languages in this subcontinent. It has come a long way from its entry as the language of colonizers to its current status of the associate official language and as the second language to majority of the educated population in India. Tracing the advent of English in India would probably be the most appropriate way to begin this analysis of the journey of English in India. The importance of English is increasing manifold in Indian society. It is no more just a means of communication but has permeated into many other aspects of our life. One such aspect is technology. English is almost becoming the language of technology.
