Looking at how two documentaries attempt to cast twenty-first century television as being “post-closet,” or more progressive than the medium was in prior eras and more accepting of LGBTQ+ programming and professionals, Julia Himberg details how “the closet” still shapes the experiences of even the most “out” television personalities.
