ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the basics behind working with R and RStudio, explains how to install and load packages in R, as well as how to find help for different R functions. Furthermore, readers will learn how to construct matrices in R, load and inspect data, select rows and columns of a data set, and compute variance-covariance matrices in R.
