ABSTRACT

There is a considerable gap between the research and actual practice related to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and digital technologies. This chapter proposes a model, for researchers and practitioners, which may provide a better understanding of how digital technologies can be leveraged to reduce the barriers to information and knowledge sharing in ERM work. Digital technologies can enhance the dimensions of ERM included in the model and can contribute to meeting specific information and knowledge sharing and knowledge integration needs in individual organisations. This can improve decision-making, create value and lead to competitive advantage. By leveraging digital technologies to enhance computation, interpretation and coordination of risk, ERM could play a valuable business-partnering role for future organisations.
