ABSTRACT

This chapter briefly identifies most of the Olympic stakeholders and presents a model that can be used to distinguish between those that are central or primary and those that are more peripheral or secondary, in order to focus on the former group, i.e. those groups of stakeholders without whose support and interest the International Olympic Committee (IOC) would cease to exist as we know it. The first section lists and briefly describes the various Olympic stakeholders. The second section outlines various stakeholder models recently drawn up by the IOC itself. The third section presents the evolution of the Olympic System through three models developed over the years by the author.
